Meghan has been criticized for spending millions of pounds over the past year.

Meghan is being criticized of having 'American wife syndrome' over Frogmore revamp

Meghan Markle faced backlash this week following the publication of the Royal Family's financial report for 2018/2019, which revealed that she had spent £2.4m refurbishing Frogmore Cottage.

The Duchess also splashed out £330,000 on her New York baby shower and £787,000 on her wardrobe, raising some eyebrows amongst the public.

Now one American journalist has accused her of suffering from 'American wife syndrome' because she is the type of woman who think she wants to move into a "quaint" cottage but then becomes obsessed with renovating and upgrading it.

Writing in the Telegraph, Alison Pearson said Americans are more accustomed to "power showers, underfloor heating, walk in closets, laundry rooms, indoor gyms, wine cellars, yoga studios and home cinemas", as well as his and her bathrooms and walk-in closets which are considered to be "pretty much the norm in any new build house in the US".
