Woman recounts how being a virgin saved her from been raped

She wrote:

RAPE. Ask me about it. I have smelt it. I was at its brink! You might not know the brain torture and the emotional damage it does to the victims, well, I do!

On the fateful day, I laid down helpless & waited for the worst. I had been battered for attempting to fight back. My clothes had been pulled and soaked in a bucket of water. I had to surrender. I couldn’t over-power the predator. I was 18. I was a virgin.

I must have screamed ‘Please don’t hurt me! I beg you in the name of God! I’m a virgin! I have never done this before!” a million times. I kept screaming that until my mouth could utter no more words. As he pulled down his trousers and made to thrust his member inside of me, I screamed with what seemed like my last breath. “Please don’t do this to me! I am a virgin...I am a virgin....” my voice was now cracked and faint.

He proceeded to thrust but couldn’t go through. “So you are actually a virgin? I thought you were lying!” I nodded to affirm. He got up. “I will dry up your clothes so you could leave. I hate virgins!” A divine intervention?? I couldn’t believe my luck!! “But....” he continued, “You would have to make me cum. If you don’t know how to do that, I will teach you” I hate to recall how the bastard went about that. I was bruised and torn. It took me several years to learn that sex could be enjoyed, and not a weapon.

Seems predators always leave scary warnings in the end. He warned me never to tell anyone what happened. He threatened fire and hell if I did. I agreed I wouldn’t, and I ended up not telling a soul....until many years after.

I shuddered and shivered for several years anytime I remembered. It was such a gory episode to recall. It takes strength to recount it. It’s not an easy tale to tell, especially in an African setting where people judge you, blame you for letting it happen to you, and even ask you for evidence!

Thank you Busola Dakolo for helping me bring this out of my innermost. This is like a renewal to most victims. And hey, your truth is yours. It may not be their truth, but it is yours, and it glitters! Continue to own that truth. I stand with you. I stand with justice.

About herself:

I’m from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria, though British born. I’ve done all a well brought up child could do as regards education. I schooled both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. I’m presently back in school for my Masters in Management of Business Information Technology.

At some point, I plan to take on my PhD. Earlier in my life, I was a writer/columnist.  I penned one of the most popular columns in those days called ‘Bustline’. I actually created the column when I was 19 and it became popular when it got published in the rested romance journal, Hearts Magazine. The column traveled through many publications.

Today, the name ‘Bustline’ has become a brand. I’ve done almost everything in the Print Media. From being a proof reader, to being a columnist, a woman editor, an associate editor, a contributing editor and a co-publisher. It has been some journey. I thank God for where I am today.’

Man Gets His Racist Tattoos Removed After Becoming A Dad

Bryon Widner by name, became a skinhead at the age of 14, and he spent 16 years involved with racist organizations in the midwest. He earned the nickname of “pit bull”, and went on to co-found Vinlanders Social Club, a white power group in Indiana.

Vinlanders soon gained a reputation for excessive violence and became one of the fastest-growing racist skinhead organizations in the US.

In 2005, Widner married Julie Larsen and a year later, the couple had a son. The responsibilities of fatherhood gave Widner the desire to reform and leave the racist movement, a desire shared by his new wife.

Widner took the decision to leave the neo-nazi group, but it took years of death threats and harassment before he felt that he was finally becoming “human again.”

Widner’s attempts to become part of regular society were understandably made more difficult by his many facial tattoos, which were both intimidating and openly racist. His wife Julie was afraid that he would do something extreme to erase hi…

Man Stops Drinking Alcohol, Narrates How Much Sobriety Changed Him In 3 Years

Giving up your vices and guilty pleasures can lead to a happier and healthier life that’s full of purpose. Even though you might not see the changes day-to-day when you give up drinking alcohol, they’re very apparent to others. One of the things that can keep you motivated is documenting the changes and looking at the photos side by side.

Well, one man has made the phrase ‘one day at a time’ fit both his fight with alcoholism and documenting his journey through sobriety. These last three years, Kenny D. has taken snaps of how he looked when he quit alcohol at key stages in his journey of sobriety. The changes within the first month are already huge and he is almost unrecognizable in the final pictures.

Kenny went sober three years ago. When he took his first photo, he was feeling awful.

“I took a picture of myself the day I got my first sobriety coin, 24 hours sober. I felt so ill and I looked so bad, I wanted to remember it so I wouldn’t forget. The day I got my 30-day coin, I though…

Why Does Canada Feel more Developed Than The USA

Why Does Canada Feel more Developed Than The USA a question asked by a Quora Community User: The question goes like this:

"If USA is wealthier than Canada, why does Canada feel more developed (far cleaner cities, a lot less crime, fewer homeless people, significantly higher life expectancy)?"

Kelly Meilleur Has the best answer:

Dual citizen here (CDN/USA).

I will try to explain Canada.

There is an entirely different sense of right and wrong in Canada. Canadians are democratic. (Not just a democracy; there’s a difference.)

That means they are happy to pay taxes - big taxes - so that they have the resources they need in their neighbourhoods. They don’t need to earn big money to be able to afford a house in a good school district or private school tuition in order to ensure a good k-12 foundation for their kids.

Their children do not need to take on hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt for an undergraduate or professional degree at a good school. Some Americans think that th…
