It was no secret The Mandalorian would be coming back for another round: Favreau spilled that he was already working on second-season scripts long before the show premiered in November. But since its debut, the show and its breakout star mostly known as Baby Yoda bear the markers of being a hit.

Baby Yoda, the breakout star of the new Star Wars live action series The Mandalorian, is suddenly everywhere—by which we mean in every social media feed. The Child, as the tiny green character is officially titled, has been memed for his penchant for touching things he's been asked not to touch.

The Mandalorian, is an American space Western web television series that premiered on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. Set in the Star Wars universe, the series takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows a Mandalorian bounty hunter beyond the reaches of the New Republic.

Jon Favreau serves as creator, head writer, and show runner, as well as executive producer, alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. The show stars Pedro Pascal in the title role. There are eight episodes in the first season, and a second season has been ordered. The series has been met with positive reviews with some praising the writing, characterization, and visuals, while noting its inconsistent pacing.
