Top 10 New Release 2020 Hollywood Movies

This is a list of American Hollywood films that are scheduled to be released in 2020. Some films have announced release dates but have yet to begin filming, while others are in production but do not yet have definite release dates.

Black Widow is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the twenty-fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).


The film was directed by Cate Shortland and written by Eric Pearson from a story by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, and stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow alongside Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz. Set after Captain America: Civil War (2016), the film sees Romanoff on the run and forced to confront her past.

No Time to Die, Release date: 12 November 2020

No Time to Die is a forthcoming spy film and the twenty-fifth instalment in the James Bond film series produced by Eon Productions. It features Daniel Craig in his fifth and final outing as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik and Billy Magnussen joining the cast.


The release of the new James Bond film has been put back by seven months as coronavirus continues to spread.

The producers said they had moved the release of No Time To Die from April to November 2020 after "careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace".

Top Gun: Maverick is an upcoming American action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Tom Cruise and David Ellison, and written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie. It is the sequel to 1986's Top Gun and stars Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer. Cruise and Kilmer reprise their roles from the first film.


Top Gun: Maverick is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on June 24, 2020, by Paramount Pictures.

4. Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey is the first DCEU film and the second DC Films production to be rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. The film had its world premiere in Mexico City on January 25, 2020 and was theatrically released in the United States in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and 4DX on February 7, 2020. It has grossed $189.5 million worldwide, making it the fourth highest-grossing film of 2020. 


The film received praise from critics for its visual style, Yan's direction and the performances of Robbie and McGregor, but criticism for the screenplay.

6. Tenet


Tenet

Tenet is an upcoming action thriller film written and directed by Christopher Nolan. It stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.


Warner Bros. Pictures scheduled Tenet for a July 17, 2020 release in IMAX, 35 mm, and 70 mm film. It is the fifth Nolan film to be released in the third weekend of July, which Deadline Hollywood called "a lucky date for Nolan" as his preceding four projects went on to achieve box office success. In August 2019, Warner Bros. debuted a forty-second teaser ahead of Hobbs & Shaw previews. It was attached to Indian showings of Joker in October. The first trailer was published online in December, when the prologue played in certain IMAX theaters before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It introduced Indian IMAX screenings of Birds of Prey in February 2020.

7. Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures in RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, IMAX and IMAX 3D on June 5, 2020.

Wonder Woman 1984 is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman. It is the sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman and the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham, and a story by Johns and Jenkins, and stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, alongside Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen in supporting roles. 


It will be the fourth live-action theatrical film featuring the title character, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Wonder Woman, and Justice League (both 2017); it will also be the second full-length feature film centered around the character. The film follows Diana as she faces Maxwell Lord and Cheetah in 1984.

8. A Quiet Place 2


A Quiet Place 2

A Quiet Place Part II is an upcoming American horror film and sequel to A Quiet Place (2018). The sequel film was written and directed by John Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, reprising their roles from the first film. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou also joined the cast. Krasinski also reprises his role from the first film in newly-filmed flashback sequences.


9. The Eternals


The Eternals

The Eternals is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the twenty-fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). 


The film is directed by Chloé Zhao, written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, and features an ensemble cast including Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Angelina Jolie, and Kit Harington. In the film, the Eternals unite to protect Earth from their enemies, the Deviants.

The Eternals is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on November 6, 2020.

10. Bloodshot

After he and his wife are suddenly assassinated, Marine Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is reborn by a team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he struggles to recall anything from his previous years. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally felt.

Bloodshot is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on March 13, 2020, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
