1. Basketmouth

Bright Okpocha (born 14 September 1978 in Lagos State), better known by his stage name Basketmouth is a Nigerian comedian and actor. He has organized popular stand-up comedy concerts like Basketmouth Uncensored across the globe.



Basketmouth hosted a comedy challenge on Instagram, called the #TwoThingsChallenge which sparked an uproar from fans, after a young fan posted a video of him saying obscene things relating to sex, with a child in close view in the video. In 2005 and 2006 Basketmouth won the National Comedy Award and the awards for Best Stand-up Comedian of the Year. Basketmouth appears in the Africa Magic show 'My Flatmates' (2016).

2. Bovi




Bovi is a Nigerian comedian, actor, and writer from Delta State, Nigeria. He has organized popular stand-up comedy concerts like Bovi Man on Fire across the globe. Bovi premiered his first movie It's Her Day on 9 September 2016. He was nominated for the AMVCA awards as the best actor in comedy; his third individual nomination since the inception of the AMVCA and the fourth from his works. The movie, though lacking in mainstream publicity, went on to have a decent run in the cinemas and grossed 55 million naira at the box office.

3. I Go Dye




Francis Agoda (born April 4, 1979) popularly known as I Go Dye or I Go Die is a Nigerian comedian. He is a motivational speaker, writer and social crusader. He has organized several international comedy shows such as "Igodye Standing." His first European tour was with Ehizoya Golden Entertainment, 2005 which took him round 7 countries. He was later contracted by (NIDOE) France to perform at the UNESCO Cultural Week in Paris France and was presented an award for his contribution to the uplifment of Nigeria Cultural value by Niddo Spain.

He has been featured in the MTV Africa Music Awards. He has also performed in opening and closing shows of various notable musicians including Akon, Boyz II Men, 50-Cent, Rick Ross, The Game, and Kelly Rowland.

4. Akpororo




Jephthah Bowoto, popularly known as Akpororo, is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, vocalist and actor. His style of comedy is basically the fusion of secular and church-related jokes. In an interview, he revealed that he performs and cracks jokes about lunatics because he was once an attendant to mentally-ill people who came to the church he was attending for spiritual healing.

5. Okey Bakassi




Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule (born October 23, 1969), popularly known as Okey Bakassi is a Nigerian stand-up comedian and actor. In 2014, he won the "Best Actor in a Leading Role (Igbo)" category at the 2014 edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in the film Onye Ozi.

Popular Nigerian actor and comedian Samuel Perry, who is extensively known in the Nigerian comedy industry as Broda Shaggi, has solidified his name as the epitome of comedy and short skits as far as the Nigerian entertainment industry is concerned. His rise to fame was nothing short of a miracle according to him, but also attributed his success to hard work and determination.

7. Mark Angel

Mark Angel (born 27 May 1991) is a Nigerian comedian, script writer, and video producer. He is best known for the Mark Angel Comedy series of shorts on Youtube, often featuring child comedians such as his cousin, Emmanuella Samuel (age 10), who is usually referred to as his niece, and her cousin "Aunty" Success Madubuike (age 5 as of 2019). Angel's YouTube channel was the first African comedy channel to reach one million subscribers. 

 Angel's first well known short is "Oga Landlord," wherein a man late on rent (Angel) is trying to hide from his landlord (Daddy Humble), and tries in vain to have a child (Emmanuella) cover for him (e.g. "My uncle is not around. He just told me.").

Mark Angel works mostly with multiple camera formats and close camera angles. Filming sometimes includes shaky camera techniques to give them a natural and down to earth feel, something Angel calls "freestyle comedy."

Angel primarily films within his family's lower-class neighbourhood in Port Harcourt, as a means to portray the environment he grew up in and relate to other common people in Nigeria.

John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, is a Nigerian actor and comedian. Okafor is considered to be one of Nigeria's most talented comic characters. His humorous acting is often characterized by stupidity, hilarious imbecility and a sharp disconnection from reality.

9. Igosave




Igosave first performed comedy at the Nite of 1000 Laughs show, organized by Opa Williams.[6] During that show, he worked alongside other comedians, such as I Go Dye, bovi, Buchi (comedian), Basketmouth, Ali Baba, Teju Babyface, and others. His annual Igosave Unusual show has held all throughout Nigeria.

On 6 September 2014, Superstar Comedian Igosave Released another Hilarious Video he titled "The Polygamy Dating".

10. Charles Inojie




Charles Inojie is a Nigerian actor, comedian, movie director and producer. He is predominantly known for his comedic roles. He officially joined Nollywood Nigerian movie industry in 1999. He started his career working as an assistant movie director before venturing full-time into acting and movie directing. He is known to always act in comedy movies and he is labelled as one of the best Nigerian comedy merchant.

In a recent chat with the comic actor, he made it known that after graduating from the University of Port Harcourt in 1999, he relocated to Lagos State. He became the assistant director at Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen's production company. In 2016, members from the Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria (SWGN) unanimously appointed Inojie as president of their labor union.
