Models are a unique breed, says Jason Smith, model agent at Kult Models South Africa.
“They have to have a sense of ‘aspiration’ for the public to want to be like them, and clients to want them for their brands,” Smith tells Business Insider South Africa.
South Africa’s most successful and beautiful models spent years building their portfolio and improving their performance abilities, he says.

4. Ansolet Rossouw

Rossouw was discovered on Instagram by a FANJAM Model Management agent.[3] She has walked for brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Elie Saab, Fendi, Miu Miu, Jil Sander, Valentino, Emilio Pucci, Maison Margiela, Off-White, Max Mara, Saint Laurent, Rodarte, and Missoni. Rossouw is one of the highest paid models in South Africa.
5. Candice Boucher

Boucher became the new model for Guess in 2009. In April 2010, Boucher was on the cover of, and had the pictorial in, Playboy. The photo shoot took place in Kenya and was titled "Undressed in Africa." Months later, in October, she was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. In 2011, she co-starred in the Bollywood film Aazaan with Sachiin J Joshi.

Gina Athans is a South African former beauty queen and model of Greek origin. Born in Johannesburg, her father is a doctor and her mother a businesswoman. She was raised on a small holding in Eikenhof, south of Johannesburg.
7. Minki van der Westhuizen

Van der Westhuizen started modelling at the age of 16. In her final year of high school in 2002, she was selected for an international campaign by the fashion label Guess. She is represented by Max Models in Cape Town. She was featured in the 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2007 Swimwear editions of the South African Sports Illustrated magazine and on the cover of GQ.
She was ranked #24 on Maxim's Hot 100 list for 2003 and voted the winner of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll by South African FHM readers in 2004. In 2003, she was voted the most popular pin-up girl by US troops serving in the Iraq War.

Tamaryn Green is a South African model, doctor and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2018. She represented South Africa in the Miss Universe 2018 competition and placed as the first runner-up.
